URBANFLOODS Second Meeting in RIJEKA, Croatia

Within the URBANFLOODS project, 8–9. In April 2025, the second meeting of project partners was held in Rijeka (Croatia). The meeting was attended by eleven organizations from eight countries from the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The main objectives of the meeting were the recapitulation of the implemented and the organization of the implementation of future activities within the project. Accordingly, each of the partner participants at the meeting presented the river course that was chosen as a pilot site where the solutions produced within the project will be applied, with the aim of improving flood prevention and protection. Also, the representatives of each of the participating countries presented the national legislative framework in the field of flood management, which will serve as the basis for the development of joint recommendations for improving the area of flood prevention and protection in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

During the visit to the city of Rijeka, representatives of the project partners had the opportunity to visit the source of the river Rječina, which was chosen as a pilot site in Croatia, as one of the participating countries in the URBANFLOODS project.

At the end of the meeting, further steps for implementation were agreed, in order to ensure that the defined activities and goals within the URBANFLOODS project are implemented and achieved within the given time and quality frameworks.

The URBANFLOODS project is co-financed under the IPA ADRION First Call for Proposals, within the 2021–2027 programming period. It supports a greener and more climate-resilient Adriatic-Ionian region through climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, using ecosystem-based approaches.

Takimi i Dytë i URBANFLOODS në RIJEKA, Kroaci

Në kuadër të projektit URBANFLOODS, 8–9. Në prill 2025, takimi i dytë i partnerëve të projektit u mbajt në Rijeka (Kroaci). Në takim morën pjesë njëmbëdhjetë organizata nga tetë vende nga rajoni Adriatiko-Jonian.

Objektivat kryesore të takimit ishin përmbledhja e aktiviteteve të zbatuara dhe organizimi i zbatimit të aktiviteteve të ardhshme brenda projektit. Prandaj, secili prej partnerëve pjesëmarrës në takim prezantoi rrjedhën e lumit që u zgjodh si vend pilot ku do të aplikohen zgjidhjet e prodhuara brenda projektit, me qëllim përmirësimin e parandalimit dhe mbrojtjes nga përmbytjet. Gjithashtu, përfaqësuesit e secilit prej vendeve pjesëmarrëse prezantuan kornizën legjislative kombëtare në fushën e menaxhimit të përmbytjeve, e cila do të shërbejë si bazë për zhvillimin e rekomandimeve të përbashkëta për përmirësimin e fushës së parandalimit dhe mbrojtjes nga përmbytjet në rajonin Adriatiko-Jonian.

Gjatë vizitës në qytetin e Rijekës, përfaqësuesit e partnerëve të projektit patën mundësinë të vizitojnë burimin e lumit Rječina, i cili u zgjodh si vend pilot në Kroaci, si një nga vendet pjesëmarrëse në projektin URBANFLOODS.

Në fund të takimit, u ra dakord për hapat e mëtejshëm për zbatim, me qëllim që të sigurohet që aktivitetet dhe qëllimet e përcaktuara brenda projektit URBANFLOODS të zbatohen dhe arrihen brenda kohës dhe kornizave të cilësisë së caktuar.

Projekti URBANFLOODS bashkëfinancohet në kuadër të Thirrjes së Parë për Propozime IPA ADRION, brenda periudhës së programimit 2021–2027. Ai mbështet një rajon Adriatiko-Jonian më të gjelbër dhe më rezistent ndaj klimës përmes përshtatjes ndaj ndryshimeve klimatike dhe parandalimit të rrezikut nga fatkeqësitë, duke përdorur qasje të bazuara në ekosistem.
